HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A woman was killed in a southwest Houston apartment on Sunday while her children were home, and her husband has confessed to the crime, police said.
Salome Juarez, 39, has been charged for the woman's death.
According to officials, the victim's body was found Sunday in a unit at Chelsea Lane Apartments in the 8000 block of Boone.
Neighbors said Juarez and his wife lived there with their three children.
Authorities took Juarez away in handcuffs. Police said he later confessed to killing his wife and he has been cooperative with investigators.
Homicide detectives were inside the apartment Sunday evening gathering evidence. Few details were released.
Officials confirmed the couple's children were home at the time of the woman's death.
An autopsy will be performed Monday. Meanwhile, the investigation is ongoing.
