A man has been accused in the stabbing death of a woman in his southwest Houston apartment early Sunday morning.
Alexander Cutino-Cabrera , 42, is charged with murder in the stabbing that occurred at 8100 Sands Point about 3:30 p.m., said Houston police.
Police said the woman, whose name has not been released, died at the scene. She had stab wounds in her chest and back.
Police said officers were dispatched to the apartment on a emergency call about a disturbance. When officers arrived they knocked on the door and a man, later identified as Cutino-Cabrera, answered it. His hands and arms were bloody, and the body of a woman lying on the floor was visible from the door, Houston Police Department Sgt. Ben Williams said.
Investigators later determined Cutino-Cabrera and the woman had an argument and at some point he stabbed her, police said.
Police said Cutino-Cabrera admitted his role in the stabbing and was taken into custody at the scene.
Neighbors said the pair used to live together, and that they had recently separated.
