HILLSBORO, Wis.— Vernon County sheriff's officials say a man shot and killed his estranged wife in Hillsboro and then took his own life.
Investigators say 55-year-old Joseph Satterlee of rural Wonewoc (WAHN'-ee-wok) intentionally rammed his vehicle into one driven by his estranged wife in Hillsboro about 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Authorities say he then got out of his vehicle and fired several rounds from a handgun at 53-year-old Anita Satterlee before getting into the front passenger seat of her vehicle and killing himself.
The couple was pronounced dead at the scene by Vernon County Coroner Janet Reed.
