HAMPTON, Ga. - Police in Henry County Henry County police are searching for the husband of a woman found dead inside an exclusive country club community home.
Officers found the body of a 45-year-old woman inside a home in Hampton last week. They were alerted to the scene when they received an OnStar signal from a 3-year-old child inside a vehicle parked outside the home. The child was unharmed, according to police.
Henry County Police Sgt. Mike Ireland said an autopsy showed that the woman had been murdered. Officials have not said how the woman was killed.
Police said there was no indication that the 3-year-old child witnessed the crime.
Ireland said the woman's 38-year-old estranged husband, Preston Marzette Young, has not returned their calls related to the investigation, and that they are calling him a person of interest.
Young could be driving a maroon Dodge Ram truck with Georgia tag BKG 1602, police said.
Ireland said that a weapon was missing and allegedly stolen from the residence, and that Young should be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information on Young’s whereabouts or his truck is asked to call Henry County police.
