HOUSTON - Police investigate an apparent murder-suicide in southwest Houston after a man finds his son laying on the floor and learns his granddaughter was in another room for more than a day after the shootings took place.
Investigators believe that the 39-year-old man who was found dead had shot his wife before shooting himself on Wednesday.
The alleged shooter's father had become concerned after not hearing from his son for more than a day so police say he went to the house at approximately 9 p.m. Thursday and saw his son's body through the home's front window.
Houston police and Harris County Precinct 5 deputy constables arrived to the house at the 11400 block of Newbrook Drive before 10 p.m. Thursday after a call from the man who found the bodies.
The couple and their 2-year-old daughter had moved into the house only a few weeks before the shooting. The young girl was found in a rear bedroom of the home.
