MARSHALL, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Police say they have a man in custody who is suspected of murdering his wife.

Police responded to a call from a man just after 4:00 Tuesday morning who said he had killed his wife at Loves Truck Stop. That's just off I-94 at Partello Road in Marshall.

They say a husband and wife from the east side of the state had come to the truck stop and got into an argument. That's when police say the husband stabbed his wife to death.

"We were summoned here by a gentleman who told the dispatcher he killed his wife," said Marshall Police Chief Scott McDonald. "Officers [who] responded found the individual still in the parking lot holding the knife. He was detained for some questioning. We did find a young woman who was killed."

Police arrested the husband and took him to jail. They do not expect he will be arraigned Tuesday.
