TECUMSEH, Kansas (AP) -- Shawnee County authorities say the death of a Tecumseh couple last week likely was a murder-suicide.
The county sheriff's office says in a news release that an investigation indicated 57-year-old Andrew Jackson Jr. shot his estranged wife, 52-year-old Carolyn R. Jackson, and then shot himself. Their bodies were found in their home last Tuesday.
The couple was separated and going through a divorce. They had been married 30 years and had three adult children.
The sheriff is waiting for reports from the county coroner before making a final ruling.

(NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
