West Monroe authorities say a man murdered his wife and then shot and killed himself in the parking lot of a local drive-in restaurant.
Ouachita Parish sheriff's deputies say video evidence shows 34-year-old Desmond West of Bossier City first struck his estranged wife, 35-year-old Katherine West of Jonesboro, with a vehicle about 5:50 a.m. Friday.
Police say video then shows Desmond West leaving his vehicle and shooting his wife in the head with a small caliber hand gun. Desmond West then returned to his vehicle and shot himself in the head.
The News-Star reports ( http://tnsne.ws/JSa1Vg) Katherine West died at the scene, while Desmond West died later at a local hospital.
Police say Katherine West had filed a protective order against her husband on Tuesday in Jackson Parish.
