A 39-year-old Irvine man was indicted Wednesday by an Orange County grand jury in connection with the fatal strangulation of his wife in their apartment.
Shalabh Rastogi allegedly had been having problems with his 40-year-old wife, Jalina George, before attacking her in their bedroom on May 21, according to the Orange County district attorney's office.
Rastogi is accused of leaving his wife in a bedroom closet and calling Irvine police. He was arrested at the apartment.
The couple had three children, but they were not home at the time of the killing, the district attorney's office said.
Rastogi was being held without bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Friday at the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
