GOLDEN, Colo.—A 35-year-old Arvada man is facing animal cruelty and criminal mischief charges after witnesses told police he killed his girlfriend's dog.
The Jefferson County District Attorney said Wednesday that Samuel Talbert was arrested last month after police found a 1-year-old white shepherd dead in the man's back yard.
Neighbors called police after they saw the dog hit and dragged by its leash while it was being taken on a walk.
