NEWPORT, Del. - Police in New Castle County are investigating the deaths of a man and woman found shot in their Lindbergh Avenue home in the community of Silview, but say there is no need for area residents to be alarmed.
According to New Castle County Police detectives, police were called to the 200 block of Lindbergh Avenue shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday to check on the couple after a relative went to the home and nobody would answer the door.
The relative had told police he had gone to the home to pick up someone, but then called 911 when he didn’t receive an answer.
Police entered the home and located the man and woman dead with gunshot wounds to their upper bodies, according to detectives. The circumstances surrounding their deaths remained under investigation.
“Police continue to investigate but do not feel area residents need to be alarmed,” states a release from the county detectives.
The names of the two were not being released Sunday pending the notification of their families.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
