BRIDGEVILLE — A Bridgeville couple was found dead in their home on Wednesday, apparently due to a murder-suicide, police say.
Delaware State Police were called to the home on the 6200 block of Dublin Hill Road at 4:07 p.m. Wednesday; police say the call was placed by Keith E. Warrington, 47, who told 911 operators that his wife, Janice K. Warrington, 48, had been shot.
Troopers found the couple inside a bathroom of their home; attempts to revive them were unsuccessful.
Delaware State Police Homicide detectives are continuing to gather information surrounding this investigation, but according to the police, a preliminary investigation indicates that Keith Warrington shot his spouse, then turned the shotgun on himself.
The victims were turned over to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, who will conduct a post-mortem examination.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
