A Chatsworth man was arrested Tuesday after he walked into a police station and allegedly told officers that he had killed his girlfriend.
David Pearson, 52, said he had killed his girlfriend in their apartment, according to the LAPD.
Officers found Kristen Hyde, 62, dead inside the apartment in the 6500 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard, the LAPD said. She appeared to have been strangled, police said.
Pearson was being held in lieu of $1 million bail. Since January 2007, at least 10 homicides have been reported in Chatsworth, according to The Times' Homicide Report database.
