METAMORA – A rural Metamora man shot and killed himself after a domestic dispute with his wife Tuesday night at their home, Woodford County police said.
His identity was being withheld until it would be released by Coroner Tim Ruestman later today.
The man’s wife called 911 on her cell phone from her car, saying her husband had shot at her. Deputies met her at a service station in Metamora and then cordoned off the residence, which is 1 1/2 miles north of Metamora.
The house is one-third mile east of Route 89 on County Road 1600 North. After a SWAT team arrived, police discovered the man dead inside the residence.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
