ARLINGTON, Texas — Police have arrested an Arlington man after a Dallas-area shooting left three dead and a fourth person injured during an apparent domestic dispute.
Arlington Police Sgt. Os Flores said 45-year-old Dalton James Bennett Jr. was being held in the Arlington City Jail Saturday on three counts of capital murder and one count of attempted capital murder. His bail was set at $1.5 million.
The shooting occurred early Saturday morning in an Arlington apartment where responding officers found two women and one man dead, police spokeswoman Tiara Ellis Richard said.
A fourth man with gunshot wounds was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. He is expected to survive.
Richard said at least one witness identified the suspected shooter as the husband of one of the slain women. The couple was estranged.
Authorities who later went to Bennett's Arlington home found him in the garage with what appeared to be self-inflicted cuts on his arms and neck.
He was treated at Medical Center of Arlington, questioned and taken to jail, police said.
The deceased have not yet been officially identified, according to a Tarrant County Medical Examiner field agent.
Police, who declined to release the injured man's name, said their investigation is ongoing.
