LAKESIDE (CNS) - A Lakeside man was rushed to the hospital early Monday, after he allegedly killed his wife and attempted to kill himself by inhaling carbon monoxide, a sheriff's lieutenant said.
A woman called 911 about 4:45 a.m. to report that she had just received an email from her brother-in-law stating that he had killed his wife and was about to take his own life, according to San Diego County sheriff's Lt. Jim Duffy.
Deputies went to the man's home in the 10300 block of New Bedford Court in Lakeside and found him in a closed room with a portable generator, Duffy said, noting that the man was taken to a hospital. The extent of his medical condition was not immediately released.
Deputies also found a woman in the house who appeared dead, according to Duffy.
The lieutenant could also not immediately confirm the manner in which the man allegedly killed his wife, however a local news source reported that she was shot.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
