WABASH, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Two people are dead stemming from what appears to have been a domestic dispute.
Officials say 30-year-old Ryan Hunt shot and killed himself in a yard on Courtland Avenue Monday evening after he apparently shot and killed 27-year-old Jennifer Parrett in a car on that street.
A witness had called police saying she saw Hunt with a shotgun in a neighbor's yard. She also said she saw two children flee Parrett's car and run into a house. The Children were uninjured.
The neighbor who called in to 911 had this to say:
"911: I'm going to stay on the line until an officer gets there OK?
Caller: OK, I see a police car there. He's sitting across, on a big tree stump there.
911: Um the man is?
Caller: Um... I think he's pointing the gun, OHHHH.
911: What's wrong?
Caller: He just shot himself... Oh my God! (Screams)
911: Unit 24, caller is advising that he just shot himself."
Wabash Police have been at the home before due to arguments over the custody of the children. Police say the children are now with family members.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
