JERSEY CITY -- A 43-year-old Staten Island man shot himself to death early this morning on the front steps of his estranged wife's home in Jersey City, officials told the Jersey Journal.
Cops responding to a 1:31 a.m. call about a woman being harassed on Msgr. Wojtycha Drive found the man slumped with his back against the front door of the residence, according to the report. A closer look revealed he had a bullet wound to his forehead and a handgun on his lap.
The woman was on her way to bed when the door bell began ringing continuously, according to the report. She phoned authorities after she saw her former husband's car outside the house.
The identity of the man and woman are not immediately available.
Further information will be posted as it becomes available.
