BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Authorities say a Pennsylvania woman was fatally shot by a man who then tried to kill himself inside a home where two children were present.
Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek says a woman was killed and a man injured in the shooting late Tuesday in Bethlehem. The man was hospitalized in critical condition.
Police Commissioner Stuart Bedics tells The Morning Call of Allentown the slain woman was Margie Reyes.
The Express-Times of Easton interviewed Reyes in 2005 about the construction of the Habitat for Humanity home where she was killed.
Bedics says a teenager and a child younger than 10 were at the home at the time of the shooing and one of them called 911 to report a domestic dispute and gunfire. Neither child was injured.
Margie Reyes' on-again, off-again boyfriend of more than 20 years is accused of shooting her to death Tuesday night at home, according to her brother.
Police told the family that Luis Montero, the father of Reyes' three children, shot her in the 1501 E. Seventh St., Bethlehem, home, said Gilbert Reyes, of Washington, N.J.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
