BEDFORD HEIGHTS, Ohio - A spokesperson for the Bedford Heights Police Department tells Fox 8 News that a woman found dead in her apartment Monday morning had been strangled. Her boyfriend is now in custody.
BHPD Cmdr. Gary Serfilippi says that authorities received a call at approximately 3:15 a.m. from an out-of-town individual who knows the suspect. That person shared information that led to officers being dispatched to an apartment at 5977 Bear Creek Dr. in Bedford Heights.
There, a 21-year-old female was found strangled in an apparent homicide.
Her 21-year-old boyfriend was taken into police custody. The suspect was not presently living with the victim because of a pending domestic violence case in which he had been charged.
The case is still under investigation. The Cuyahoga County Coroner's Office has sent an investigator to the scene.
