Four-year-old Corbin Harris has been upgraded from critical to serious condition with a bullet wound to the head. The little boy underwent surgery at Riley Hospital after suffering a gunshot wound to the head.

Metro Police heard the young victim crying when they knocked on the door of an apartment in the 7500 block of West St. Clair late this morning. Two adults lay dead nearby--the boy's mother, 35-year-old Nicole James, and a 36-year-old man, Dante Roberts. Both had also been shot.

Officers entered the home at the urging of the boy's father, who called to say that his son was missing and he was unable to reach the mother. It's not clear when it might have happened. The father says he hadn't heard from his son in more than 24 hours.

Investigators say it may have been a murder-suicide but it's not clear who fired the shots. They hope to learn more through autopsies and forensic evidence. Neighbors say they heard James and Roberts arguing Sunday night.
