ATLANTA - Police are searching for the gunman behind an overnight shooting that left a teenage girl dead in northwest Atlanta.
Investigators believe an argument between the two led to gunfire.
"The incident -- according to witnesses -- may have been domestic related," said Atlanta police Lt. Paul Guerrucci.
A late night argument between a 17-year-old and her boyfriend leaves her dead.
Officers were called out to a home on Detroit Avenue in northwest Atlanta around 11:30 Tuesday night.
When officers arrived "they found the victim who had been shot once in the head -- killed on the scene," said Guerrucci.
The gunman fled on foot.
Detectives haven't named him but do believe he was romantically involved with the victim.
Investigators say the victim and shooter were visiting friends when something went wrong between the couple and that's when the boyfriend opened fire.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
