COLLETON, SC (WCSC) – The Colleton County Sheriff's Office said a Lodge, South Carolina man killed his wife before turning the gun on himself.
When Sheriff's deputies arrived at the house early Sunday morning they found 57-year-old Rose Meyers dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
Investigators say her husband, 51-year-old Eli Meyers, was suffering from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the neck.
It's believed Eli Meyers called 911 claiming to have shot his wife.
Deputies say Eli Meyers was flown to a Charleston area hospital where he is undergoing surgery for that gunshot wound.
Colleton County Sheriff George Malone said the shooting is still under investigation.Coll
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
