CLEVELAND, July 27 (UPI) -- The husband of a Cleveland marriage and family counselor has been charged with murder after the discovery of his wife's body in the couple's home, police said.
Maurice Lyons, 38, was charged with aggravated murder and domestic violence in the stabbing death of Tonya Hunter, 42, Sunday night, The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer reported.
Someone dropped Hunter's 4-year-old son on a street corner that night, police said, and the boy later led officer's to his mother's body in the family's garage, the newspaper said.
Lyons, who served prison time in Illinois for aggravated battery, intimidation and vehicular invasion, was arrested Monday after officers spotted his car at a downtown Detroit retail center, police said.
Hunter and Lyons had been married for seven months, and Hunter had applied for a protective order against Lyons after two domestic violence incidents, the Plain Dealer reported.
