Authorities are investigating an apparent murder-suicide involving a husband and wife that happened some time Wednesday morning, Nelson County Sheriff David Brooks said.
The incident took place at 3076 Dark Hollow Road in the Roseland area of Nelson County. Brooks said he did not know exactly what time it happened.
The incident appears to be isolated, he said, but authorities don’t yet know the cause.
“I don’t know, the family doesn’t know,“ Brooks said. “We don’t know what caused it.“
Brooks did not release the names of the dead.
He said a handgun was found at the scene.
The sheriff’s office is not pressing charges and is not looking for any other suspects, Brooks said.
Brooks said the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation and no outside agency has been called in.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
