LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - A fatal shooting occurred in Limestone County Saturday night.
It happened at 13443 Reid Road. The Limestone County Sheriff's Office said they responded to the call at 9:22 p.m.
Upon their arrival, investigators found 46-year-old Kenneth Mark Cline had suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest from a 44 caliber pistol.
According to witnesses, his nephew, Terry Cline of Reid Road shot Kenneth Mark Cline after witnessing him assault his girlfriend. Witnesses told the Limestone County Sheriff's Office that Kenneth Mark Cline pulled a steak knife and made threatening gestures toward Terry Cline. Terry Cline then fired in self defense.
The body of Kenneth Mark Cline has been sent to forensics for an autopsy. No charges have been filed at this time.
The case is still under investigation and will be presented to the District Attorney's Office to determine if charges are to be filed.
