OAKLAND, MD. — The Garrett County Sheriff's Office and Maryland State Police are investigating a suspected murder-suicide case in Oakland.
Officers were called to a home Friday for a reported shooting.
Investigators say 46-year-old Sharon Jean Markwood was found dead. Her estranged husband, 48-year-old John Robert Markwood, was pronounced dead a short time later.
Investigators believe John Robert Markwood shot his estranged wife and then shot himself.
