Shavonna Jones, 30, was shot in the head around 9 a.m. Saturday in the 10500 block of South Central Avenue.
Her husband, identified as Dejame Henderson, remains at large. According to KCAL, Jones, who worked as a security officer, was shot while her two son, 2 and 15, were sleeping. Her oldest son later discovered her body and called a cousin for help.
The couple married only a few months ago. KCAL 9 reported that Jones had a restraining order against him at one point. Jones was described as a quiet woman who devoted her life to her family. Henderson was not the father of her two boys.
Anyone with information about the fatal shooting should contact LAPD Southeast Division detectives at (213) 972-7813.
