ST. PETERSBURG - A man allegedly stabbed and killed his wife Monday morning at their home after he accused her of having an extramarital affair, the St. Petersburg Police Department said.
Fausto Watters, 38, was charged with the first-degree murder of his wife, Samyra Watters, 24. The couple lived at 775 64th Ave. South in St. Petersburg, police said.
Police were called to the home just before noon. When officers arrived, they found Samyra Watters' body on the floor inside the home.
Homicide investigators said Fausto Watters attacked his wife with a knife after he accused her of having an extramarital affair with another man.
She was stabbed in the neck and paramedics pronounced her dead minutes after they arrived, police said.
Fausto Watters was seated on the front porch when officers arrived. He made spontaneous statements to officers, implicating himself in the murder, police said.
Fausto Watters was taken to Pinellas County Jail.
Fausto and Samyra Watters had a young child together. The child was at a babysitter's home at the time of the homicide.
