A 26-year-old woman has been charged with shooting and killing her boyfriend early Monday, Fort Lauderdale police said.
Evelyn Augustin allegedly fled after shooting her boyfriend shortly after midnight in an apartment in the 2100 block of Davie Boulevard, police said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police did not immediately release his name because his family had not been notified.
After returning home from a holiday celebration, the couple had gotten into a dispute that escalated into the shooting, police said.
Augustin is being held on a charge of second-degree murder.
Police asked anyone with information to call detectives Mark Breen, 954-828-5708, or Jack DiCristofalo, 954-828-6096, or Broward County Crime Stoppers anonymously at 954-493-8477.
