Three people were shot on Detroit's west side Sunday afternoon, Detroit police said, in an apparent murder-suicide attempt.
Before turning the gun on himself, a 43-year-old man shot his 34-year-old ex-girlfriend and her 18-year-old son inside her home on the 14500 block of Burt Road.
The woman is in an area hospital in critical condition. Her son, who was shot in the leg, is also hospitalized in temporary serious condition.

(NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
