GASTONIA, N.C.— Gastonia police say a man who shot and killed his wife’s lover at a major intersection Thursday morning is in custody.
Officers tell NewsChannel 36 that around 1:30 a.m. the woman and her boyfriend were in a car at the intersection of West Franklin Boulevard and Bessemer City Road when her husband pulled up in front of them in a pickup truck. Mikel Arms and his wife’s boyfriend then starting fighting in the roadway, police said.
At some point during the scuffle, Arms pulled out a gun and opened fire, killing the man, officers say.
