Houston, TX: Murder-suicide suspected in couple's deaths

Son found mom, stepfather dead, police say

A young man found his mother and stepfather dead in the family's southeast Houston condo Sunday evening in what police are calling a murder-suicide.
Officers arrived around 5:30 p.m. to a condo in the 7600 block of Glenview to find the man and woman dead in their bedroom from gunshot wounds, said Houston Police Department Homicide Division Sgt. Phillip Munoz.
The woman's 20-year-old son told investigators he was at the home with his girlfriend and another person when they heard gunshots. He walked into his mother and stepfather's bedroom, where he found the two dead in the bed, Munoz said.
At this time, investigators believe that the man's stepfather shot and killed his wife before turning the gun on himself, Munoz said, adding that a revolver was recovered inside the condo.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation.
