(WSB Radio) -- The boyfriend of the mother of four found murdered in her apartment has been charged.
Damian Brown, 28, is now charged with killing his girlfriend Yolanda Johnson Thursday in her midtown apartment.
He was arrested Friday in College Park and taken to the Fulton County Jail. His first court appearance was set for Saturday morning.
Maj. Keith Meadows tells WSB Johnson, 35, had been stabbed to death at the Centennial Place Apartments on Merrit's Avenue, near the Georgia Tech campus.
"Several of the victim's small children came home and found her dead on the bathroom floor," said Meadows.
Neighbors tell police Johnson, who lived at the apartment with her four children, had a visitor not long before her children discovered her.
"She did have a visitor around 2:30. It's my understanding her children came home roughly around 3:50, which gives us an hour and twenty minute time frame," said Meadows.
The man apparently matched the description of Johnson's boyfriend.
"We've not been able to determine a motive for this particular attack; however, we've not ruled out the possibility that it's domestic in nature," said Meadows.
He says while there have been reports of domestic violence at the home, they have been unable to confirm that.
DFCS has taken custody of the children and will interview their grandmother. She says said wants the kids to live with her.

A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
