NEWTON COUNTY, Ark.-- A Newton County, Arkansas woman has pleaded not guilty in the shooting death of her boyfriend.
Kerry Breedlove, 35, is charged with first degree murder in the death of Shannon Price, 39, who was shot last Monday at the couple's Piercetown home.
Breedlove told police that she and Price were arguing before Price tried to remove her daughter from the residence, which she said led to the shooting.
According to the Newton County Sheriff's Department, when officers arrived on the scene they found a first responder performing CPR on a non-responsive Price on the back porch of the home.
Price was pronounced dead at the scene.
Breedlove was still on the scene when authorities arrived; she was arrested without incident Monday morning.
Breedlove has been held in the Boone County Jail for Newton County.
Her next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 8, at which time a bond hearing will be held.
