The ex-boyfriend of a Los Angeles woman whose body was found inside her car in Winnetka has been arrested on suspicion of her murder, police said today.
Doris Salguero, 24, was reported missing Monday morning by her family and friends, police said. She was found dead inside her car after friends and relatives searched the area.
The victim’s brother first went to her apartment to check on her Monday afternoon, and after he left about 1:20 p.m., spotted her blue 1998 Toyota in the 19500 block of Leadwell Street. He found her body in the back seat, covered in blood.
She had been stabbed to death and was covered with a jacket, perhaps to conceal the body, police said. After talking to several people, detectives went to a home in the 1000 block of Dacotah Street in East Los Angeles to speak with the victim’s ex-boyfriend, Fredy Hernandez.
Investigators say Hernandez had been at a holiday party Saturday evening attended by Salguero. After detectives interviewed him, they booked him on suspicion of murder. His bail was set at $1 million.
Salguero was last seen Sunday at a holiday party in Carson for Amway, a company for which she worked part-time.

A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
