LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - A Lincoln man has been sentenced to 40-50 years in prison for killing his wife.
Forty-9-year-old Mark Ziemann (ZEE-man) offered an apology Wednesday before a Lancaster County District Judge Paul Merritt Jr. handed down his punishment for the 2007 slaying.
Police say Ziemann killed his wife, Rhapsody, in their Lincoln apartment two years ago then moved her body to an abandoned trailer home near the town of Daykin. She was found there a week after her death.
Authorities say Rhapsody Ziemann suffered blunt force trauma to her head and was strangled.
In October, Ziemann pleaded no contest to a second-degree murder charge.
He will become eligible for parole after serving 20 years.
