Indianapolis Metropolitan Police have identified the couple found in what investigators called a murder-suicide which occurred Thursday night on the Far Southside.
Brittany March, 18 her boyfriend Corey Dix, 19, were found dead around 10:30 p.m. in the John Mar Apartments, in the 2800 block of East County Line Road.
The area is near Madison Avenue and the Johnson-Marion county line.
Police said March had called family members earlier and told them that she had been arguing with Dix. They said March planned to leave the couple's apartment.
When family members had not heard from her by last night, according to an IMPD news release, one of them went to the apartment. When there was no response to knocking, the family member forced the door open and found March and Dix in the bedroom, both dead from gun shot wounds.
A handgun was found under the body of Dix, who police said appears to have shot himself after killing March.
It was not immediately clear what caused the argument.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
