ARDSLEY — The man killed Friday night on Saw Mill River Road was struck by his ex-girlfriend's Jeep after an argument, police said Saturday.
Ardsley police said Isabel Santiago, 32, of Yonkers, struck Antonio Hamilton, 35, outside the Kickstart Cafe after a dispute. She is facing a drunken-driving charge.
The incident shortly before 10 p.m. occurred outside 555 Saw Mill River Road. There is a Sunoco station next door. The Ardsley Acres Hotel Court is across the street.
Santiago was attempting to drive away after an argument between the two, police said Saturday.
At the scene Friday night, police had pulled an orange tarp over the Jeep. The man's body was underneath the vehicle.
Ardsley Police Chief Emil Califano said Friday that the investigation was continuing into the circumstances of the death.
Police released little information Saturday but said Santiago was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. She was released and is to appear in Ardsley Village Court at 2 p.m. Monday.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
