A Minnesota man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for killing his girlfriend in Hudson last fall.
Christopher Ledesma, 30, of Woodbury pleaded no contest Monday to second-degree intentional homicide.
He was then given his prison, plus 25 years of extended supervision, for the shooting death of Kelly Dahm, 19.
Ledesma was originally charged with first-degree homicide, but he avoided a life sentence by arranging a plea bargain with prosecutors on the lesser charge.
Dahm’s body was found last September in Ledesma’s car which was parked outside the St. Croix County Government Center in Hudson.
Witnesses heard gunshots, but nobody came forward and officials said Dahm’s body was in the car for hours before officers discovered it.
Ledesma said motionless in court, and he turned down a chance to talk about what happened.
The two met while working at a restaurant, and officials said their relationship was on-again, off-again.
The day before she was killed, authorities said Dahm had moved back into her parents’ home because she was trying to break up with Ledesma.
