The woman who died in a suspected domestic violence incident Wednesday has been identified as 42-year-old Griselda Flores-Sanchez of Las Vegas, the Clark County Coroner's Office said today.

Her death was caused by a gunshot to the head and it has been ruled a homicide, a spokeswoman for the coroner's office said.

Metro Police arrested the man suspected of shooting his wife in the northwest Las Vegas Valley home shortly after responding to the emergency call at 10:59 a.m. Wednesday.

Jose Gueta-Castaneda, 48, the husband of a woman who was shot and killed, was arrested at a park near a house in the 2400 block of Valparaiso Street near Torrey Pines Drive and Smoke Ranch Road, Officer Bill Cassell said.

Gueta-Castaneda has been booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of murder with the use of a deadly weapon and attempted murder with the use of a deadly weapon, Cassell said.

Arriving officers spotted the man and took him into custody, Cassell said.
