Husband arrested for domestic violence murder

Police are investigating a domestic violence homicide on Valparaiso Street near Smoke Ranch and Torrey Pines. A woman was reportedly shot and killed inside her house late Wednesday morning; police received the call around 10:45 am. According to police, her husband fled the scene in a car. But thanks to witness information, police were able to catch up with him a few blocks away. The husband is currently in custody as a suspect in his wife's death and is being questioned by police. Several of the couple's children were reportedly inside the home at the time of the shooting; they are said to be unharmed. No word yet on a possible motive for the shooting.
