Dad Left Notes To Family He Killed

Investigators in Middleton, Md., said a 34-year-old man killed his chidren and wife before fatally shooting himself. Their bodies were found in by the wife's father, according to police.

Newly released police records show that a suicidal western Maryland father left loving goodbye notes to the wife and three children he killed in April.

The records obtained Thursday by The Associated Press through a public information request include the text of handwritten notes that Christopher Wood left on or near the bodies of Francie

Billotti-Wood, 5-year-old Chandler, 4-year-old Gavin and 2-year-old Fiona in their Middletown, Md., home. The family had recently moved from Florida.

In the note to his wife, Wood wrote that while he loved her dearly, they should never have gotten married.

In a note to his parents, Wood wrote that he would probably go to hell for what he did.

Police concluded that Wood shot and decapitated his family members before putting a shotgun in his mouth and pulling the trigger.
