GRANDVIEW, Wash. — Police here are requesting charges of second-degree murder against a man they say killed his girlfriend last week in the Grandview apartment they shared.
Daniel James Uvalle, 28, was on his way to the Yakima County jail this morning, said Detective Mitch Fairchild of the Grandview Police Department.
Detectives accuse Uvalle of killing Corina Santos at their Grandview Square apartment in the 600 block of Washington Street, Fairchild said.
Her cause of death hasn’t been established, but police believe she died of blunt force trauma, Fairchild said. The Yakima County Coroner has scheduled an autopsy for today.
Uvalle and Santos had a child and they lived together "at least part-time," Fairchild said. It appeared the two were living together on Friday.
Detectives said there was an argument between the two and that at about 12:20 a.m. Friday a third party called police about it and asked them to check on Santos, police said. They found her dead in her apartment.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
