A man found in St. Cloud who is accused of stabbing to death his wife in her Fargo, N.D., apartment has been charged with murder.
Henry Deniger Sr., 49, was charged in Cass County District Court.
Police arrested Deniger late Wednesday in St. Cloud in connection with the apparent stabbing death of his 52-year-old wife, Kathye Deniger. She had not been seen for several days when her body was found Tuesday by officers called to her Fargo apartment to check on her. An autopsy was scheduled for today.
The Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force assisted in the arrest. Fargo police asked for help in locating the man, Commander Jerry Edblad said.
Task force members and St. Cloud police officers found Deniger and kept an eye on him until Fargo investigators got to St. Cloud.
When they arrived, Deniger was questioned about his involvement. He was arrested at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
He was taken to Stearns County Jail to await extradition to North Dakota.
The Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force is made up of members from the Benton, Morrison, Sherburne, Stearns and Todd county sheriff’s offices, as well as Little Falls, St. Cloud, Sauk Rapids, Sartell, St. Joseph and Waite Park police departments.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
