GALLUP, NM (KRQE) - An early morning crash on eastbound I-40 just west of Gallup, NM has left one man dead.
It began when Gallup Police were responding to a domestic violence call involving a man with a knife.
When they arrived at the residence a man took off in a white truck. Police chased the man to near by train tracks in what they say was a suicide attempt. When they caught up with the driver he took off heading to the highway.
The truck was traveling westbound on I-40 when it crossed the median into the eastbound lanes and collided head on with a semi killing the driver of the white truck.
The driver of the semi received minor injuries. The crash backed up traffic for miles.

(NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
