Former Celebrity Apprentice star Omarosa Manigault is grieving the loss of her brother Jack Manigault, who police in Youngstown, Ohio, say was killed in a lover's quarrel.
The Vindicator, a local paper, reports that Marco Cardenas, the ex-boyfriend of Jack Manigault's girlfriend, shot him in the head while he slept early Sunday morning. Police say the man also hit Manigault's girlfriend in the head with the gun, but was chased out of the house by two children.
Police arrested Cardenas, who was in the midst of a two-year probation, shortly after the shooting.
Manigault had legal troubles of his own, but his sister says he was working to get his life back on track.
"My brother was so special to us! We loved him unconditionally and we were so proud of him when he turned his life around and gave his life to God two years ago," Omarosa told The Vindicator in a statement.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
