BROKEN ARROW - The victims of a recent homicide-suicide have been identified.
Early Tuesday, a 53-year-old woman shot her 50-year-old husband in their home before she killed herself, Wagoner County Undersheriff Michael Stickelmeyer said.
Daryl Wilson died of gunshot wounds to the chest and abdomen, a spokeswoman with the state Medical Examiner’s Office said Friday. Teresa Wilson, whose birthday was Tuesday, died of a gunshot wound to the head, the spokeswoman said.
Wagoner County deputies were dispatched to the 21000 block of East 106th Street after receiving a call about 2 a.m. Tuesday from a woman requesting a coroner, he said.
Through a window, a deputy observed a woman covered in blood on the living room couch, Stickelmeyer said. The deputy entered the home and found a man in an office chair in the study, he said.
Notes were found in the home indicating how the woman wanted their belongings distributed after their deaths, Stickelmeyer said.
The couple kept to themselves and were going through a divorce, Stickelmeyer said neighbors told police.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
