COON RAPIDS, Minn. - Murder charges were filed Friday against a man in Anoka County after his girlfriend was found dead, in her apartment. Coon Rapids police say they had to remove 54-year-old Patrick Benton from his girlfriend's apartment Thursday morning, but they say he returned in the afternoon.
The girlfriend, 44-year-old Susan Courteau, was found dead Thursday in her apartment by her sister.
Authorities say Courteau had been stabbed to death.
Benton was just released from custody on Tuesday after serving time on a conviction of domestic assault.
Benton was charged with second-degree murder in Anoka County.
