The Monroe County Medical Examiner has released the name of a woman found dead in a Perinton home Friday.
Patricia Irish, 37, died from asphyxiation and multiple stab wounds, according to the medical examiner’s office.
The woman’s husband, Douglas A. Irish, 56, of 4 Rosscommon Crescent, has been charged with second-degree murder in the case. He has pleaded not-guilty to the charges.
The woman was found dead in the couple’s home Friday evening after two of the woman’s children could not get into the house after school. Deputies were alerted to a suspicious condition at the address, just off Macedon Center Road, by a neighbor about 5:45 p.m. When deputies entered the house, they found the dead woman and Irish, who also had stab wounds.
Neighbors said the couple married about a year ago.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
